David Herman - NOT WITHOUT A TRACE

February–March 2016
NOT WITHOUT A TRACE was designed for display at the #DMAdigitalspot in the Center for Creative Connections.

NOT WITHOUT A TRACE, by David Herman, Jr., is a comment on photographic memory and time. Images give themselves to the past. They inform us about time and memory. NOT WITHOUT A TRACE is a new media installation that reflects on the notion that somewhere between the present and the future there is always a trace, a vestige, of our individual and collective experiences. The collection of images creates a politics of discontinuity in a way that images play out in our daily lives—each one of them having their own context and meaning.
